Our rattan chairs pay homage to Pierre Jeanneret's mid-century masterpiece, ‘The Chandigarh Chairs’, with their sturdy V-shaped teak wood frames and woven cane rattan seats and backs. These chairs were originally designed for the utopian city of Chandigarh, India by Jeanneret, who was a Swiss architect and cousin to the Swiss- French architect Le Corbusier.
Our version of the Chandigarh chair comes in three finishes and includes a small Patola pattern on each side, which adds a subtle traditional touch to this timeless and iconic design.
General Care Instructions for Natural Cane Rattan Seating
To clean the product, use a soft dry lint-free cloth and a soft duster. Keep the product from ramming into solid surfaces to avoid damaging the fragile hand-carved parts. Avoid dragging the product to move its position. Avoid overloading the product with heavy objects. Keep the product away from direct exposure to sunlight or moisture, and do not place hot or cold items directly on the surface to avoid damaging the surface.
